I need to ask someone about ...

I want to adopt a deaf dog, how do I find one if what I want isn't on your site?

There are hundreds of deaf dogs available for adoption around the world. Since we are not a rescue group and don't have any way to house these dogs, all we can do is help the people and groups trying to place them. We cannot, and do not, list any dogs on our site unless the appropriate individuals have asked us to.

If you are looking for a specific size, breed, or color, you may need to look at several other places as well (try not to be too inflexible; sometimes the right dog for your home might not be exactly the color, size, or gender that you started out looking for). To find a deaf dog in a particular breed, your best bet may be to contact a rescue group that specializes in that breed (they can also help you to determine if that particular breed will be a good match for your family). Start with the groups listed on our rescue pages first (which include non-US listings), and check the websites (these are in the US) that we have listed there as well.

If that doesn't work, go to any search engine and type in the name of the breed (in quotes) and then the word rescue. While some groups will not take in a deaf dog, they may be willing to let you know if they find out about one. They may also be able to help if you are looking for a certain age or sex.
